What Messes People Up? Mark 7

Why do some kids grow up godly and others grow up greedy—even when they're raised in the same home? Why do well-raised kids sometimes go off the rails, and poorly-raised kids sometimes turn out remarkable? In Mark 7, the Pharisees ask Jesus a ""good parent"" question about tradition and training, and Jesus gives a shocking answer: the problem isn't outside of us. It's inside. No tradition, no policy, no rulebook, no amount of sheltering can change a human heart. Only Jesus can. This sermon is about why the best parenting, teaching, and discipling in the world still isn't enough—and why that's actually the best news you could hear.
